My Role:
I am an aspiring computer scientist and I'm looking for Summer 2021 Internships.
Since before I could remember, I've always loved building things and figuring out how things work.
It started out with Legos, and as time passed by the engineer in me evolved that led me to take the Elements of Mechanical Engineering
in high school, then onto Electronics during Junior College where I created various Raspberry Pi and Arduino Projects which
gave me a chance to get my hand into programming things by myself. And now, I'm studying Computer Science and Mathematics. I've always been
interested in technology; and seeing technology evolve everyday so rapidly has motivated me more to become someone that will someday be able to contribute
to this industry and I think time has come now for me do it. And also, I like to be up to date on my knowledge of Tech industry and all of my interests; which helps me get the most out of me everytime.
Some other interests of mine: Travelling, Listening to Music, Politics, Scuba Diving, Businessy Stuff (such as: Startups, Investing, Trading, VCs, Banking, Real Estate, etc.).
Technical Skills:
Object - Oriented Design, Algorithms, Data Structures, Software Development, User Focused UI, Research and Planning, GIT, Linux, Command Line.
Programming Languages:
Java, C / C++, Python, SQL, Assembly
Web Development:
HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, SASS
This was a 4 month long course consisting of several different courses covering different topics mainly focusing on "Design and Analysis of Algorithms". Taught by Professor Tim Roughgarden a distinguished Stanford University Professor now teaching at Columbia University.
Through this virtual experience, I familiarized myself with JPMorgan Chase frameworks and applied my technical skills to a hypothetical request from the firm’s trading floor to analyze and visualize data in a new way.
JP Morgan Chase & Co. Platform: InsideSherpaThis was a subject offered to me in the S.S.C where only 2 to 3 schools offer this in Mumbai, India. My school was one of them. I have learned things covered in this for about 6 years. There are about 8 sub topics covered in this course which are listed below:
My Role: Superheading the Rutgers University’s Hindu Student Council fundraising initiatives and corporate sponsorships.
About the Organization: Rutgers HSC is a student-run organization dedicated to inspiring youth to discover the spiritual and cultural treasures of Hindu heritage. Rutgers HSC is a chapter of Hindu Students Council founded in 1990 which is North America’s largest pan-Hindu youth organization. HSC is a 501 (c)3 non-profit providing a safe space for Hindus on campuses all over, and is a platform for young Hindu leaders to grow.
I was a student volunteer being a part of the VHX team who partners with various HackRU teams and these teams together help with various tasks that goes into organizing such a huge event at that level.
HackRU (Rutgers Hackathon)Served for my responsibilities to my community through this medical centre in their various medical camps which was managed by Lions Club of (Bombay) VidyaVihar.
Late Kumari Deepali C. Thakkar VidyaVihar Lions Medical Centre Mumbai, IndiaParticipated in All India Flag Day Collection Drive and raised funds for the blind.
National Association for the Blind (NAB) Mumbai, India
This was a collaborative task led by the project manager (me); where we had to brainstorm investing ideas, code the algorithm, apply mathematical skills and come up with mathematical modelling concerned with financial markets.
What I did: Created algorithm to trade gold-backed assets in response to changes in overall volatility market data by using Quantopian API and Sklearn to build model to estimate price changes.
Technical: Had to use Quantopian with Python and Sklearn.
Backtesting: For the result of last backtesting of the Algorithm click below.
Speak to Note is a program written entirely in python3 which is built on the concept of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and uses libraries such as speechRecognition, Pyaudio and also uses the bleeding edge technology offered by Google Cloud Speech API. This program enables one to just Speak to Note down everything which is just amazing. More features to be added soon for overcoming the shortbacks due to Google Cloud Speech API and making it more awesome than it is now.
Under Development! More information to be followed in coming weeks.
